Nigeria international Semi Ajayi is set to depart West Bromwich Albion this summer. His contract expires at the end of the current campaign. According to reports, the Championship club is not planning to offer the 31 year old a new deal, making him a free agent in the coming transfer window.

Ajayi joined the Baggies from Rotherham United in 2019 and has since made 169 league appearances, scoring 12 goals. The former Arsenal academy product signed a contract extension in May 2022 but appears poised to seek a new challenge after five seasons at the Hawthorns.

On the international stage, Ajayi has featured prominently for the Super Eagles, playing at both the 2021 and 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments. He was a central figure in Nigeria’s run to the final of the 2023 edition in Côte d’Ivoire, where the team finished as runners-up.
